Brandon Fields Brandon Fields has been in practice for over 25 years. He graduated from Brandeis University in 1978 and The National Law Center at George Washington University in 1981.

Brandon is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Colorado Bar elder law section. He is a regular speaker and participant in conferences and seminars on current legal issues and solutions for elder law, estate planning, probate and special needs.

Brandon has regularly been appointed as respondent's counsel or guardian ad litem by district court judges in Boulder, Larimer and Broomfield counties to represent seniors and disabled adults in guardianship and conservatorship matters.

Brandon has been a guest lecturer on elder law, estate planning and probate issues for the University of Colorado gerontology program, the CU faculty and staff assistance program, and seminars for the public, including Boulder Senior Law Day. He recently presented to his fellow elder law attorneys at the Colorado Bar Elder law retreat on issues involving the law and memory care. Brandon has been named a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation, a peer nominated designation bestowed upon no more than five percent of the lawyers in Colorado for “outstanding dedication to the welfare of the community, the traditions of the profession and the maintenance and advancement of the objectives of the Colorado Bar Association.”

Prior to opening his own practice in Boulder, Brandon was a partner in the international law firm Rogers and Wells in New York City and Washington, D.C., and a special counsel in the Colorado offices of Cooley Godward, LLP.

Brandon is also active in Boulder and Colorado community affairs, including present or past service as:

  • Board Chair and Commissioner, Colorado Office of Public Guardian ("OPG"). The Office of Public Guardian is a public agency providing guardians and guardianship services to indigent and incapacitated individuals who do not have family to serve for them. Mr. Fields was appointed as a commissioner and later a director by the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court.
  • Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association
  • Board Member, Golden West Foundation, a foundation to support resident of a moderate income senior community and assisted living in Boulder
  • Member, Clinical Ethics Committee of Boulder Community Hospital
  • Chairman of the Board and Board Member, People’s Clinic, a federally qualified community health center
  • Board Member, Cherryvale Elder Housing, a non-profit formed to construct senior housing
  • Member, Boulder Countywide Leadership Council established by the Aging Services Division of Boulder County to create a countywide plan for aging well in Boulder County
  • Board President, Boulder Senior Law Day, a board supervising the annual Boulder County Senior Law Day event to provide information on legal issues for seniors, caregivers and family members.
